On Friday 15th May 2009 a cocktail evening was hosted by Cockatoo Ridge Wines. Tickets were sold for $15 each, which included a drink on arrival, nibbles and door prizes. Our cocktail list was created with our Sparkling Wines in mind, giving each one a twist and slightly different flavour.

Our Sparkling Rose was turned into a bubbly combination of our Shiraz Rose Sorbet in Sparkling Rose - creating a childhood classic that could have slipped straight out of Alice in Wonderland. Our Low Calorie Brut Cuvee was combined with pineapple juice and a hint of vodka, a taste sure to tickle anyone’s taste buds.

Our Brut Cuvee was turned into an oldie but a goodie, Brut Cuvee Sunrise! The ultimate romantic drink, of orange, Brut Cuvee and a dash of raspberry cordial.

The favourite drink of the night by ladies and gentlemen combined was the Sparkling Pink Moscato Enticement. A delicious concoction adapted from a 1943 classic cocktail recipe, modernised with our brand new Sparkling Pink Moscato. Sugar rimmed glasses, Pink Moscato with apple and strawberry juice created the perfect, sweet cocktail.

As an alternative to sparkling wines we did offer two punches, a Shiraz Sangria and a Solo based Mocktail – Cranberry Blossom.

The Sangria was made with our Cockatoo Ridge 2006 Shiraz served with lemonade, gin, vodka and citrus fruits. This one also proved to be a favourite throughout the evening also.

The Cranberry Blossom was an alcohol-free cocktail, for the drivers and sensible ones attending the evening. Using Schweppes Solo, Cranberry Juice and Limes, this drink tasted fantastic and was enjoyed also by the staff during the evening!

Regardless of the cold, rainy weather the turn out was good. The atmosphere was excellent and everyone enjoyed their evening.

The entire night was a positive reflection on the company, with nothing but praise giving to staff and friends of, all night. Fun and festivities were had, and we would love to have another evening of the same idea – but perhaps in Summer – hope to see you all then!
